Books on Katyń

Allen Paul, “Katyn: The Untold Story of Stalin's Polish Massacre” Scribner Book Company (August 1991)
Paul Allen tells the story of three families: the Hoffmans and the Pawulskis from Lwów and the Czarneks from Kraków. In each family, the husband was murdered: a lawyer, an officer, and a doctor. The author describes, in detail, the reasons for and history of the subsequent cover-up of the Katyń Massacre, presenting family tragedies against the wide backdrop of meticulously documented Polish history from 1939 to 1992, when Russian authorities finally released official documents in which Stalin personally orders the execution of Polish P.O.W.s held in Kozielsk, Starobielsk and Ostaszków.
